  1. The Batavia Scholastic Bowl team opened their 2017 season at Elgin High School last night. Varsity finished strong beating Elgin by a score of 450 to 210 and West Aurora by a score of 490 to 90.   JV fought hard only to be edged out by Elgin by 10 points.

  1. Consider joining Future Medical Professional Club. This club will have guest speakers and volunteering information for those interested in the medical field.  The first informational meeting will be next Tuesday after school in room D202.  Everyone is welcome.

Pencil and paper ready.  On a 4 hour car trip, Ed drove 30 miles per hour for the first three hours and then drove at 70 miles per hour for the final hour.   3. The fishing team will be selling raffle tickets to win a $100 in gas card.   5. This weekend, the Batavia High School Marching Band attended the Lake Park Lancer Joust Competition. They placed 3rd and earned best General Effect in Class 2A.  They also made finals placing 10th.

Congratulations to the varsity girls golf team on winning the Oak Forest Invitational this past Saturday.  Madi McCoy shot a 2 over 74 to take second place overall while Cassie Norville shot an 83 to take 8th place.  Lauren  Grychowski, Sammi Hasemann and Reagan Freebourn all contributed to the victory.

Today’s tip is get involved.  Check out the club and activity webpage under students to see what clubs we offer and who the sponsor is.  Listen to announcements, look for flyers or contact the sponsor to find out when the first meeting is.

 

  1. Ultimate Frisbee Club will have an informational meeting after school tomorrow in room C206.

 

  1. The journalism club, which publishes the school newspaper, will hold its first meeting next Wednesday, August 30th after school in room D105. If you are interested in writing, please join us or contact Mr. Murray with any questions.

 

  1. There will be an informational meeting today after school in room D115 for anyone interested in joining National Art Honor Society. See Ms. Zalkus for more details.

 

  1. Bulldogs Against Destructive Decisions or B.A.D.D. will have an informational meeting in room C215 after school tomorrow.

 

  1. Team Bulldog is a club that provides opportunities for all students to socialize in a safe environment and promotes awareness for individuals with special needs. If you are interested in learning more join us after school next Wednesday, August 30th after school in room B117.

 

  1. Come cheer on your volleyball teams tomorrow night at our place vs. Wheaton Academy. The varsity will follow the 4:30 JV match.   Go Bulldogs!

  1. It’s time to join Key Club! Meetings start next Tuesday, August 22nd 7:15 am or Thursday, August 24th at 2:45.  Both meetings are in room A101.  See you there!

 

  1. If you still need to turn in your physical and medical form for Meningitis to the nurse, please check in with your first block teacher and turn your forms to the nurse’s office immediately. Nurse’s office is located in the main hallway across from the gym.

 

  1. Still need your ID picture taken? Picture make-up is next Thursday, August 24th from 7:00-2:00 for students including Seniors to have their ID pictures taken.

 

  1. Are interested joining the Dog Pound? Memberships are on sale now!  You can purchase them online for $35.00 and during lunches today.

 

  1. Do you need to pick up your yearbook? Yearbooks can be picked up at the Main Street Reception desk.

 

  1. Batavia Girls’ Volleyball program is looking for a few more team managers. Any boy or girl who likes the sport and would like to be involved 2-3 days per week, please contact Coach Wilkie or Coach Trippi-Payne as soon as possible.

  1. Congratulations to the girls varsity golf team on taking 2nd place out of 11 teams at the Huntley High School Invite. The team Madi McCoy, Cassie Norville, Kaitlyn Stangl, Sammie Hasemann and Reagan Freebourn played exceptionally well.  Madi McCoy placed 3rd while Kaitlyn Stangl and Cassie Norville placed 13th and 14th respectfully.  Nice job ladies.
