Monitoring Friday's Forecast

Dear BPS101 Staff and Families,

We are aware that there is a lot of conversation in our community about the forecasted below-freezing temperatures expected on Friday, and we want to keep you informed about what to expect.

At this time, no decision has been made about closing schools on Friday. District administrators are actively monitoring weather conditions, and we expect to have a better sense of how we may proceed by tomorrow afternoon.

If the decision is made to close schools, the day would be designated as an e-learning day, not a snow day. When we know in advance that a closure may be necessary, we use e-learning so students and staff have time to prepare and ensure learning can continue without interruption.

A few important reminders:

  • Afterschool activities, athletics, and extracurricular events are determined by building administrators and are not automatically canceled based on a school closure. These decisions will be communicated separately.

  • Parents/guardians have the final say in their student’s welfare. Please only send your student to school if you feel the conditions are safe.

  • Additional details on how e-learning works can be found on our School Closings page.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during these weather-related situations.

Be well,

BPS101
