Mr. BHS 2019
Back in 1989, the very first Mr. BHS was born. Nearly three decades later, this student-run mock male beauty pageant is still going strong and has become the top fundraiser for the Batavia High School Key Club, raising thousands of dollars for the Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation, which focuses on spastic paralysis research.
Similar to a “Miss USA” pageant, Mr. BHS contestants model a swimsuit, perform a talent, and answer questions during a formal wear segment. The next Mr. BHS show is scheduled for January 12, 2019, at 7 p.m. on the main stage at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre. All tickets will be sold at the door: $8/students and $10/adults. The BHS Key Club’s goal is to raise $13,000 from this event through ticket sales, contestant bidding, and a bake sale. At the 2018 Mr. BHS, Key Club raised a record $11,200!
Three boys from each class have been nominated by their peers to be 2019 contestants and each contestant has an escort to bring him on stage. Congrats to the following students …
