Young Hearts For Life 2021
We are excited to announce that Batavia High School is hosting a Young Hearts for Life(YH4L) screening event on December 16th, 2021. The Young Hearts For Life® Cardiac Screening is being provided to your students by EKGs for EGK and Young Hearts for Life donors. YH4L is a cardiac screening program that provides a FREE heart screening called an electrocardiogram (ECG) to high school students. A simple ECG, when used to screen young adults, can detect serious heart conditions. Recording the electrical activity of the heart using electrodes attached to the skin with a mild adhesive, can detect approximately 70% of the abnormalities or “markers” from these heart conditions that are associated with sudden cardiac arrest that a stethoscope cannot.
