As you make important decisions about your courses, we encourage both students and guardians to consider the student’s individual strengths and academic goals. For those ready to take on greater challenges, the Accelerated Placement Act—designed to provide early access to advanced coursework based on a student’s readiness—offers opportunities to enroll in higher-level classes.

Are you considering taking an Honors, Dual Credit or AP Course?

Students who are successful in these classes typically meet the following criteria:

MAP or PreACT Percentiles

You meet 2 of the following additional criteria:

-A in current class

-Present at least 90% of school days

-Cumulative GPA of 3.5+

-Desire for the subject and willing to work outside of class

-Be mindful that your total workload is manageable
