Key Dates

 

 

October

  • Placement & Recommendations:Students receive emails with their placements. And should explore course options with families. Placement change requests can be made via Google Form.
 

November/December

  • Classroom Presentation and Selection:Counselors present to classes and students make selections. Placement change requests can be made via Google Form. December 19, 2025 is the deadline
 

January 12-20, 2026

  • Review and Revise:Course selections should be reviewed in PowerSchool. Changes can be requested via Google Form January 20, 2026 is the deadline
April 20-26, 2026
  • Final Core Adjustments: Students can request an adjustment to the level of their core classes April 26, 2026 is the deadline
August
  • Official schedule released in PowerSchool Portal

 


As you make important decisions about your courses, we encourage both students and guardians to consider the student’s individual strengths and academic goals. For those ready to take on greater challenges, the Accelerated Placement Act—designed to provide early access to advanced coursework based on a student’s readiness—offers opportunities to enroll in higher-level classes.

Are you considering taking an Honors, Dual Credit or AP Course?

Students who are successful in these classes typically meet the following criteria:

MAP or PreACT Percentiles

70th-79th Percentile 80-99th Percentile

You meet 2 of the following additional criteria:

-A in current class

-Present at least 90% of school days

-Cumulative GPA of 3.5+

-Desire for the subject and willing to work outside of class

-Be mindful that your total workload is manageable

-A in current class

-Are aware of the stress and pressure that can come with advanced courses
