Tri-M

About Tri-M

Tri-M Music Honor Society, formerly known as Modern Music Masters, is Batavia High School’s music honor society. A program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), it is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements and to provide leadership and service opportunities to young musicians. Within our chapter, we focus on promoting our school district’s musical endeavors; we support each other’s performance through service and event hours and we seek to find ways to tie music into our community. There are approximately 6200 participating chapters across several countries, each of which is run by the students but supervised by an advisor.

Application Process

Students are eligible to apply for enrollment into Tri-M in their junior or senior year. All current juniors or seniors are eligible to apply for membership into Tri-M, regardless of their curricular ensemble. To qualify for Tri-M membership, students must earn a certain number of points through their years of participation in curricular music classes and extra-curricular music activities. Each class or activity participated in earns that student points. If the student earns a certain number of points, they are eligible for acceptance into Tri-M.
